Before and After
This summer I was fortunate to find this young Great Gray Owl fledgling (largely because of how loudly he was begging for food.)
He was able to fly relatively well, but was still dependent on his father for regular food deliveries. He was starting to get the beginning of his adult facial disk, but he still sported a mane of goofy hair around his face.
Fast-forward to about six weeks letter and this ugly juvenile had become a beautiful Great Gray Owl. He was trying to capture his own food, but was also still calling for Dad, hoping for a free meal.
